In order to be able to take good (close) pictures of the crocodiles in the morning light, I decided to spend the night with the animals directly on the bank behind a tree trunk ... - So I snuck under the cover of the dark towards the river bank ... - When I got to the tree trunk, I slowly got up ... - a crocodile lying in the water apparently noticed me, - suddenly shot almost silently out of the water and came very fast towards to me ... - briefly (really briefly !) it stopped in front of me and aimed at me ......, -I froze, and for the next few seconds we remained motionless. -I was sure that it would make a jump towards me and "snap". -If I'm already being eaten, I want to take at least one last picture .... -Muck, -the SLR was still in the backpack and not ready for "shot”.
But still had a small compact camera in my pocket ... -I forgot to zoom because of the tension, and I also set the ISO incorrectly ... -that is why the bad quality of the "supposed" last picture of me ... The flash of the camera didn't impress the crocodile in the slightest, -something had to happen now, -I waved around and yelled at the creature, -no reaction .... -Only when I started jumping around scolding wildly did it turn off ( sweat) .... -I still spent the night behind the tree trunk, -However, I have to admit that I haven't closed my eyes.In the morning I was so exhausted that the image yield was rather poor. Well, next time ... The really impressive thing about the whole story was the feeling of being reduced to "prey or crocodile food". The whole "being human" - all at once worthless - you are just food! -Has something defining, to feel that you are not always necessarily the last link in the food chain.
